Satya Narayana Nadella is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Microsoft. He is the third chief executive of Microsoft after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. Earlier, he was the Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. His core responsibilities included company’s Computing Platforms, Developer Tools and Cloud Computing Services. He is a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. Heading Microsoft was ‘beyond his dreams’. He is the highest paid American CEO of the year. His vision has led him to pursue his dreams. His ability of working has been recognized by Microsoft.
Life of Mr. Nadella
Satya was born on 19th August 1967 in Hyderabad, India. His father Bukkapuram Nadella Yugandher, was a civil servant of the Indian Administrative Service. He completed his schooling from Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet. He loved cricket. Hence, he played for his school team. His interests consisted of Computer science but he had to take up electrical. He holds electrical engineering degree from the Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal. He pursued M.S in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Satya is a lifelong learner. He loves signing up for online courses and learns new things that keep him updated.
He started his career with Sun Microsystems as a member of the technology staff. He worked with Bing. His core responsibility was to maintain the search engine. In the year 1992, he joined Microsoft for which he led many major projects of cloud computing. His dedication in terms of work haven proven the company to a greater extent. He was made senior vice-president of Research and Development (R&D) for the Online Services Division and vice-president of the Microsoft Business Division. Under his leadership he brought up the Microsoft’s database, Windows Server and developer tools to its Azure cloud. He was made the president of Microsoft.
He married Anupama who was the daughter of K.R. Venugopal and his high school mate. He was his father’s Indian Administrative Service (IAS) batch mate. They have three children, a son and two daughters, and live in Bellevue, Washington. Satya’s interests include American and Indian poetry. He relates poetry to coding.
